I hope that everyone is doing well! I'm working on a science-fantasy story in which I'm trying to create something similar to the Alcubierre drive (or the warp drive, depending on how I want to spin it). The main problem that I'm having is actually determining not only which type of matter/energy would power these mass-produced drives, but also which calculations I would use for this travel. I know that it's fiction and all, but I do want to largely adhere to scientific principles and use realistic calculations for different warp/Alcubierre speeds.

I'm no astrophysicist, but I've read through Harold G. White's research into the practical applications of Alcubierre's theory (and other related articles/documents). As such, I had a few questions about the logic of the theory when tested against Star Trek's warp drive concept. For context, the alien societies who have developed these drives are at a level of technological development far past humans. They're at a point of development comparable to Kardashev 1.5 or Kardashev 2 (that is to say, they're able to harvest sufficient matter/energy to hit high speeds in conjunction with this warp field).
