Two explosions hit Three Powers Square in Brasília on Wednesday night (13), causing alarm among the political and judicial classes of the federal capital, one year and ten months after the coup attacks against the headquarters of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), National Congress, and the Planalto Palace. A body was found near the STF building, and the Federal District Fire Department confirmed that one person had died at the scene.

The Military Police were called, and the Special Operations Battalion, BOPE, began a sweep of the area. In addition to the explosion near the STF, another was reported, according to the Fire Department, in a car near one of the annexes of the Chamber of Deputies, also close to the headquarters of the Judiciary.

According to police officers at the scene who spoke to Folha, the suspicion is that the two explosions are linked to the same person, later found dead near the STF building. Agents from the Institutional Security Office (GSI), responsible for the security of the Planalto Palace, rushed to assess the situation as soon as they heard the explosions.
