Tropical is just Vite plus a layer of familiar, industry-standard tools & conventions for building fast, mostly-just-HTML websites with islands of client-side JS.

Tropical is just a template repo. There's no library to install or configure. You're not stuck with these features. If Vite can do it, so can your Tropical site.

Good old-fashioned HTML is 🚀 blazing fast™. Tropical lets you build static HTML pages, with minimal browser JS, using all the powerful, flexible and modern JS tooling you love.

Because it's built on Vite (using Vite's React preset and following Vite's guides) all Vite features are available. Of course you can add any libraries and as much browser JS as you wish, but Tropical doesn't force you to adopt:
