Hi, my name is Neya. I run a small product company based in Singapore. I have been writing code for as long as I can remember and along the way, I have seen my fair share of technology trends come and go. Some, I have gambled on and burnt a finger or two, and some, definitely have paid off.

TLDR; I am here to tell you something that probably many others are telling you right now honestly, but this one’s different. AI is coming for you. And me. And how you prepare yourself.

Roughly a decade and a half ago, I got into writing software under many designations — UX Designer (yeah, I know right?), Data Scientist, Senior Backend engineer, CTO and a bunch of other titles in-between and all the way upto..presently a director. My scope of work is simple. I or someone else, usually a client, has an idea - attached to a visual design, usually. And my job is to make that into reality. How I accomplish that varies on a few parameters — Usually time, but also budget mostly. That usually dictates my choice of framework and programming language whilst making sure I use the right tool for the job.

Along the way, there were tons of trends in the technology space, but I will talk about only a prominent few that I feel had significance in my personal journey. You can feel free to skip these and dive right into the AI section if you feel so.
