Biden Plans to Pardon People Convicted of Simple Marijuana Possession

President Biden said on Thursday he will pardon all prior federal offenses of simple possession of marijuana and will call on federal regulators to review how the drug is classified.
The pardons will affect 6,500 people convicted of federal offenses for simple possession from 1992 to 2021, as well as people in Washington, D.C., according to senior administration officials. He is calling on governors to take similar actions.
